Palmer said she’s looking at the hosting gig as a “Broadway-ish” performance.

“I just want to have fun, y’all and let’s have a good night,” she said.

As an entertainer since childhood, Palmer knows she’s having a moment, but said she keeps her first plant firmly planted in the ground because she’s seen the ups and downs of Hollywood firsthand.

“You know, the entertainment industry is funny like that. You’re going to have moments in your life where everyone’s just thinking about you and everything’s always so exciting, and then it’s going to cool down and Then it won’t be so trendy or have a moment,” he said. “I definitely feel like there’s a bit of a modern moment happening. [for me] And it’s fun and it’s exciting and I’m just loving being able to explore different avenues of entertainment … no moment lasts forever.

Palmer’s star rose further over the summer with the release of director Jordan Peele’s “No,” which he wrote with her in mind.

He said it was a “crazy” call.

“Jordan is just such a talented person and someone I’ve always wanted to work with again after doing ‘Key and Peele’ and seeing how he’s continued to grow as a creator,” Palmer added, “Then I read the script. I love the character. I love the world of sci-fi and adventure, but then I was like, man, this character is so unique. It’s such a rare combination. You get to play as a woman. It was such a cool arc that I got to go from comedy to drama.

Palmer said she hopes to work with more directors.

“There’s a lot of people I think I could have fun collaborating with. I’d love to work with Samuel Jackson again. I’d love to work with Ron Howard, Steven Spielberg. The list goes on. I would love to work with Jordan again,” she said. “Also Quentin Tarantino, he’s very punchy and everything is extreme in terms of entertainment. As such, it will always give you a movie and cinema experience.

For now, Palmer will happily be home for Thanksgiving with her parents in Chicago. She has a current partnership with McCormick Seasonings and said she brings a box of the company’s 10 spices with her when she travels.

“There’s no reason for me to go to someone’s house on this holiday and they don’t know how to spice up their food,” she laughs.

However, he won’t have this problem at home. Palmer said her father does all the cooking and she gets the breaks.

“I’m relaxing and unwinding,” she said.
