Jerusalem: One dead after explosions at bus station and Ramot junction, Israeli police say

Israeli police said that two explosions in Jerusalem on Wednesday morning killed one person and injured more than a dozen.

The first explosion at a bus station near the entrance to Jerusalem at 7:06 a.m. wounded at least 11 people, including a man, police said. Israeli Army Radio says that the explosion was caused by improvised explosive devices planted at the scene.

The second blast took place at Ramot Junction in the city at 7:30 am, police said. He added that three persons were evacuated from the scene with minor injuries.

After the first explosion, two paramedics from Magen David Adom, affiliated with the Israel Red Cross, said when they arrived at the scene, they found two seriously injured people lying on the ground.

“We were at the MDA station from the city entrance when we heard a loud explosion. We immediately rushed to the scene in large numbers, including ambulances, MICUs (mobile intensive care units) and Medicines included. “Two seriously injured were lying nearby, a 16-year-old at the bus stop and a 45-year-old on the sidewalk.”

An Israeli police spokesman said they were investigating and searching for the suspects behind the blasts.
