Elton John to headline Glastonbury 2023, the last UK show in his farewell tour

Glastonbury organizer Emily Ives said John will top the bill on the Pyramid Stage on the music festival’s final night on June 25. Statement Posted on the festival website. In a statement shared by his publicist, the singer said he “couldn’t be more excited to headline the Pyramid Stage,” adding that he “can’t wait to embrace the spirit of the world’s biggest festival. Can. It’s going to be incredibly emotional.”

Ives said, “I’m absolutely delighted to tell you that the one and only Elton John will be appearing at Glastonbury for the first time next year, headlining the Pyramid Stage on Sunday night.”

“This will be the last UK show of Elton’s final tour, so we’ll be closing the festival and marking this great moment in both of our dates with the mother of all send-offs.”

The performance will close the UK leg of John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour”, advertised as his last, with more than 300 dates before his retirement after 52 years of touring.

The tour, which started in 2018, was originally supposed to end in 2021. Postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.it will now expire next summer.
