For your next major business trip, you can now rent a Ford Mustang from Hertz with a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine capable of producing more than 900 horsepower. For comparison, it has 400 horsepower more than the Chevrolet Corvette. That’s double the power you get in a regular V8 Mustang. In fact, it is more of a Lamborghini and a Ferrari.
The Mustang Shelby GT500-H – H stands for Hertz – a special edition model developed by Shelby American specifically for Hertz’s rental flats. It will not be cheap or easy to find. Only 25 will be made, 19 in black and six in white. They will be available at Hertz locations in Fort Myers, Las Vegas, Miami, Orlando, Phoenix and Tampa at an average rate of $ 399 per day. The first 75 tires include smoking miles, but after that you will be charged 75 cents per mile. Also, tenants must be at least 25 years old.

Shelby American Mustang is also developing a line of Shelby GT-H cars with 450 horsepower engines that are not supercharged. Based on the Ford Mustang GT, these cars will be available in both hard top and convertible versions.
These cars pay homage to the original 1966 Shelby GT350-H cars, which were also built specifically for the Hertz fleet. The Hertz Shelby program was renewed several times in the early 2000’s with gold-striped cars. This is just the latest – and most powerful – version.
Shelby American President Gary Peterson said that when the idea of reviving the program came up, he spoke to Hertz about what is possible in terms of power and performance.
“We said, ‘This is where we can go if you want to go,'” he said.
And he said an agreement had been reached for a full option of more than 900 horsepower.
