In a statement to CNN, Surrey Police said they are currently investigating a report of a burglary at an address in Oxshott, Leatherhead.
“Police were contacted just before 9pm on Saturday 3rd December when residents of the property came home to discover a number of items including jewelery and watches had been stolen,” a Surrey Police spokesperson told CNN.
“Inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances and investigations are ongoing.
“There was no threat of violence involved as the items were discovered stolen from the past. Inquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”
Earlier Monday, a person familiar with the situation told CNN inconsistently that armed intruders entered Sterling’s home while his family was inside.
The incident happened Saturday evening, the person told CNN, and Sterling was said to be “shaken” and “concerned” about the well-being of her children after the break-in.
Sterling will have the opportunity to return to Qatar if things go well, the person said, but added that “he is now focusing on staying at home and supporting his family.”

On Sunday, Sterling was absent from England’s 3-0 win over Senegal and England manager Gareth Southgate later said the 27-year-old was dealing with a “family matter”.
“I spent a lot of time with Raheem this morning,” Southgate told reporters on Sunday.
“You have days where things happen and you have to deal with them. He’s going home. We’re obviously mindful that his space and privacy is respected so we’re more Don’t want to talk in detail.
