Eli Rosenbaum, top US ‘Nazi hunter,’ to lead Justice Department effort to uncover war crimes in Ukraine

The announcement is an indication by the DOJ that it is interested in investigating war crimes in the ongoing war in Ukraine and follows previous attempts by the department to seize the assets of Russian oligarchs.

“There is no hiding place for war criminals in Ukraine,” Garland said in Ukraine. “Working closely with our national and international partners, the Department of Justice should work tirelessly in our efforts to hold accountable everyone involved in the commission of war crimes, violence and other serious violations during the uncontested conflict in Ukraine.” Will

Garland also said the DOJ would send three prosecutors to Ukraine, as well as to Europe and the Middle East, to fight Russia’s efforts to evade international sanctions.
