Photographs taken for the brand by photographer Leopold Dokiemann went viral after the launch of the Kochter brand’s new Paris sneaker on Monday, with severely torn, disturbing footwear, including the appearance of high-top tops circulating online. There is grief and anger.
According to the fashion house, only 100 pairs of “extra damaged” shoes will be available for purchase at 1,850. Meanwhile, unlimited editions, and less rogue-up versions, are being sold on Balenciaga’s website at $ 495 and $ 625, depending on the specific style.

In a press release, the Paris-based brand said the campaign photos showed the shoes “extremely worn, marked and dirty.”

Damna is known for her disruptive temperament and the launch of the Paris sneaker is not the first time that her designs have received a surprising response.
Balenciaga describes the sneaker as a “retouch classic design” that ends with “annoying canvas and rough edges, which affects the pre-worn look.”
There have been mixed reactions to Paris shoes online.
But not everyone thinks shoes are fun.
The jury seems to be out on whether this latest marketing ploy is commendable or worthy of ridicule. However, Demna and Balenciaga have once again forced people to talk, no doubt attracting a lot of people to a brand that seems increasingly comfortable with conflict.
